Welcome to Admissions! You have taken the first step in the application process.

Admission to Santa Fe Girls’ School is a rolling admissions process. This means that SFGS interviews families and makes acceptances for the upcoming school year as completed applications are received at the school. Therefore, we recommend that interested families begin the application process in late fall following our first Open House. We host two Open Houses in November and February for interested families to meet staff and experience our Socratic teaching style firsthand.

The Santa Fe Girls’ School in interested in creating a diverse student population: academically, economically and culturally. We welcome any student who is eager to learn and wants to be involved in exciting, open dialogue. A balanced diverse classroom provides an exciting, real life learning environment for the student and teacher alike. To assure a vibrant learning classroom, SFGS typically enjoys an enrollment of 20% mixed ethnicity: Hispanic, Native American, Asian and Afro American.

SFGS invites qualified families to take advantage of our tuition assistance program as well. Tuition assistance is awarded to approximately 20% of our families each year, and with our active fundraising program, we look forward to this percentage increasing.

Application Process

• Attending one of our Open Houses is a great start. This is an opportunity to experience seminar style teaching review the curriculum and meet staff. The dates for Open Houses for 2012-13 are November 10, 2011 and February 9, 2012, 6:00-8:00 p.m. While this is not a required step, it is highly recommended. If you are unable to attend an Open House, please download or pick up application material from the school office.
• Completing and returning all necessary application material is the second step. This includes: Family Information, Parent Questionnaire, Student Questionnaire, Teacher Recommendation, Transcripts. An application fee of $65 should accompany these documents.
• Scheduling a visitation/shadow day for your daughter is a required third step. In an attempt to minimize your daughter’s absence from her current school, we schedule a morning visit. If more time is needed, a full-day or a second visit may be scheduled. Days will vary depending upon each year’s schedule.
• An interview with the interested student and parents/guardians is the final step in the applicati0n process. Admission to SFGS is on a rolling admissions basis. Once student visits are completed and application materials are received, we interview families and make decisions within a week for the upcoming school year.
