IMPACT

IMPACTSince 2003, every SFGS students has benefited from IMPACT Personal Safety training that involve role play scenarios that help students avoid danger by heightening their awareness, shortening their body’s natural “freeze” response, capitalizing on the adrenaline rush, and assessing situations quickly and responding decisively. IMPACT classes are an integral part of the Girls’ School curriculum. Both emotionally supportive organizations empower girls to feel confident in their abilities. They improve a girl’s understanding and awareness of the world around her, while giving her the tools to be empowered to stand up for herself. Every student at SFGS experiences IMPACT classes and is stronger as a result.

IMPACT was founded in 2000 as Your Safety / New Mexico in response to appalling sexual assault statistics in an effort to provide quality, preventative self-defense programming to the public and other service providers on a sliding scale basis. The programs instill participants with increased self-confidence and assertiveness - skills necessary for personal success as well as personal safety.
