Santa Fe Girls’ School designs new Electives offerings each semester based on the interest of students. Each student chooses one class per semester from four choices such as East Asian dancing, cooking, drama, music, volleyball, fabric arts, sign language, fashion design, and yoga. These mixed-grade-level classes (with 10-15 students each) are taught on Friday mornings for 90 minutes. Through the Electives program, the students gain new skills through in-depth exploration, interact with different, visiting teachers, and engage with students outside of their grade level.
This School does an amazing job. I have been teaching there 15 years and seen class after class of girls change into their own womanhood and power. It is the most thoughtful staff and curriculum I have ever encountered.
